Lmao, looooove Schmal. Jack Astor's was fun (although it says a LOT about the lack of stuff to do here), and Kina got a free dessert out of it, and Morpheus got a lot of love (and a little groped :P)

Hanging out with you guys is always fun - despite the crazy fondue pots that were so sludgy we could stand up sticks and balance fruit on it :P

OMG. . . tell me about transit and trying to figure out routes and such only to get stranded and have to send out that S.O.S signal.
Although it must be exciting to be able to buy your own car. When that time comes let me know because my brother works at Erinpark Lexus, and soon the new scion division =)
I hope you don't have any more strange encounters or that there are bystanders that will stand up and help if something does happen.

True. I'm actually jealous of NYC - good transit (and everyone I know who lives there uses it) is amaaazing. Or good city planning in general. In Ottawa I used to walk everywhere, or take transit in a.pinch - too many one way streets and parallel parking spaces to enjoy driving. But the sub/urban sprawl that is the GTA (greater Toronto area) is not efficient, convenient or enjoyable to get across if you don't have a car. Sitting in rush hour traffic? Still a shorter commute than taking transit. Not cheaper for sure, but now that it may be an option for me I'll count myself blessed that I don't have to complain for long :)

Yeah, it does. But in NYC it's way better than driving in crazy traffic and then trying to find parking (oy vey.) Plus it is waaaaay cheaper, here at least. Any chance you can just drive and avoid the whole hassle?

Great choice! Mini Coopers are super cute, but also over-priced.

A Volkswagen Jetta! I'm so excited! I wanted a cute little compact car like the Golf (I'm obsessed with Volkswagens, don't ask :p) or a Mini Cooper. But parts for the Mini are more expensive and I can wait for that to be my next car purchase. And the Jetta is only a little more expensive than the Golf, so more space since I can't forecast what I'll need in the near future, and we are the family of 10+ year cars :p

Still, SO exciting (I'll be able to get it in a month or so)!

What kind of car are you thinking of getting?

Wow, I'm so happy for you. It's one thing to be stoked to get a job, it's another to be stoked while doing said job =P.
And I can't comment on transit, when I'm scared I'll get lost whenever I step on a bus =/.
But I can certainly agree, working up early is so different when it's not for school, or after you've been quite lazy for a couple months beforehand. Yay for alarm clocks -_-.

That you're still enthusiastic about it after the first day is definitely a good sign I think! I hope it keeps looking up for you, too. How long is your transit? I went up from a 15 minute transit during high school to 50-90 minutes during university, that long transit times hardly make me think twice anymore!
